Hello! My name is Rachel Rippel and I am the K-12 School Counselor for the TGU School District. This is my second year as a School Counselor in North Dakota and I am looking forward to another wonderful year!!
To tell you a little about myself, I grew up in Minot, ND and graduated from Minot High School. I attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks for three years before moving to Denver, Colorado. From Denver, I moved to the Southwest corner of Missouri where I stayed and called it 'home' for the next 11 years.
My educational background consists of a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, MO; a Master's Degree in Community Counseling from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas; and School Counseling Certification from the University of Missouri in Springfield, MO. I hold School Counseling Certification for K-8 and 7-12 in Missouri, a School Counseling License for K-12 in ND, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in both MO and ND. Along with working in school settings, I have also worked in private practice.
The decision to move back was made around Christmas time 2010. I had been missing out on family functions, birthdays, reunions, etc. for the last 12 years and it was time to return to my roots. So, my fiance and I made the decision and we moved 900 Miles in July 2011. Since then, we have been truly blessed by being close to family, friends, and making ND our home! I am looking forward to having a REAL winter for once!! (I know you are probably thinking I am crazy but I love the fluffy white stuff!!) In light of the spirit of the season, we said "I do" on December 31st, 2011 and rang in the New Year as husband and wife! :) Our newest adventure for 2012 was welcoming our first child into the world!! I was able to take some time off of work to stay home but I am now back to my normal schedule as stated below.
Since moving back, I began working for the TGU School District #60 in August 2011 and I travel between TGU Granville and TGU Towner. I am generally in Granville on Mondays and Wednesdays, in Towner on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and I rotate Fridays.
